Not just for food — hungry to fix a broken system that was squeezing local restaurants dry while delivering a mediocre experience to customers. We knew there was a better way.
How it started
In 2021, Alex Chen and Priya Sharma were sitting in a tiny San Francisco apartment, frustrated. They'd just paid a 30% delivery fee on a $12 bowl of ramen from a restaurant they loved — and found out the restaurant owner was barely breaking even on the order.
That felt wrong. The restaurant did all the work. The food was incredible. But the platform was taking the lion's share and giving almost nothing back — no data, no customer relationships, no control.
So they built Take a Bite. Not to be another delivery app, but to be the delivery app that actually gives a damn about the food and the people making it.
"We don't want to be the biggest food app. We want to be the one people actually love — and the one restaurants actually trust."
Alex Chen, Co-founder & CEO
What we stand for
We built this for people who genuinely love food — not just convenience. Every decision we make starts with the question: does this make the food experience better?
Fast delivery shouldn't mean cold food or sloppy packaging. We work obsessively with our restaurant partners to make sure every order arrives the way it was meant to.
Local restaurants are the heartbeat of every city. We exist to help them thrive — not to replace them with ghost kitchens or squeeze their margins to zero.
Whether you're ordering solo at midnight or feeding a team of 20, Take a Bite works for you. We celebrate every cuisine, every budget, every craving.
